Baseball Game Preview: North Gaston Wildcats vs. South Point Red Raiders

For the second straight game, North Gaston will face off against South Point. The Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Gaston's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so South Point's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

North Gaston took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over South Point.

Caleb Cloninger tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

North Gaston pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for South Point, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.
