Volleyball Recap: St. Stephens Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Stephens had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the South Caldwell Spartans. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Spartans back in September, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

St. Stephens had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.

Harmony Saesee went supernova, getting 16 digs and three aces. Those 16 digs gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: St. Stephens was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They are 5-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

When it comes to explaining why South Caldwell lost, don't look at Mcartney Harrington. Despite the final result, she had 29 digs and two assists. Harrington has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more digs the last three times she's played.

St. Stephens' win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for South Caldwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

St. Stephens has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Watauga on the 9th. As for South Caldwell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Alexander Central on the 9th.
