Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Democrats vs. Ida B. Wells Guardians

The Jefferson Democrats are taking a road trip to take on the Ida B. Wells Guardians at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Ida B. Wells likes a good challenge.

If Jefferson beats Ida B. Wells with 64 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Jefferson managed a 64-59 win over Tigard on Monday.

Meanwhile, Ida B. Wells ended up a good deal behind Roosevelt on Friday and lost 81-62. The Guardians have struggled against the Roughriders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Ida B. Wells' loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Jefferson came up short against Ida B. Wells in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 70-57. Can Jefferson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
