Softball Recap: Geneva Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Geneva had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They never let the Master's Academy Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Dallas Esperas made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Chloe Incinelli was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Molly Storms, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Geneva was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Master's Academy only posted a batting average of .050.

Geneva's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Master's Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geneva will face off against Lake Highland Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights are facing the Highlanders at the right time seeing as the Highlanders are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Master's Academy, they will challenge Altamonte Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Master's Academy will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Altamonte Christian will have lost five straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
