Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Williamsport). They came out on top against the Hughesville Spartans by a score of 76-68 on Monday. Given the Mountaineers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while the Spartans are ranked 622nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win (which was South Williamsport's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Hughesville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

South Williamsport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-37 victory against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech on the 14th. As for Hughesville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-29 defeat against Warrior Run on the 15th.
