Volleyball Recap: Calvary Baptist Comes Up Short

Calvary Baptist was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Southlands Christian Eagles. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Calvary Baptist was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Southlands Christian's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17, 25-22.

Calvary Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Southlands Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Baptist will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on EF Academy at 6:30 p.m. on April 7. As for Southlands Christian, they will head out to face off against Western Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
