Basketball Game Preview: Santa Rita Eagles vs. Baboquivari Warriors

The Santa Rita Eagles will take on the Baboquivari Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, Santa Rita strolled past San Miguel with points to spare, taking the game 65-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

David Gonzales was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 20 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight steals and six assists. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Ross, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 16 points.

Santa Rita smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Baboquivari didn't have too much trouble with Benson on Tuesday as they won 67-48.

Santa Rita's record is now 5-7. As for Baboquivari, their record now sits at 10-8.

Everything came up roses for Santa Rita against Baboquivari in their previous matchup back in November of 2017, as the team secured a 76-45 win. Does Santa Rita have another victory up their sleeve, or will Baboquivari turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
