Volleyball Game Preview: St. John Paul II Academy Eagles vs. Westminster Academy Lions

The St. John Paul II Academy Eagles will head out to square off against the Westminster Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

St. John Paul II Academy lost 3-0 to King's Academy on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

While St. John Paul II Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into King's Academy's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-13, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Westminster Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Benjamin on Monday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered since September 17, 2024.

The final score came out to 25-22, 25-9, 25-22.

St. John Paul II Academy couldn't quite get it done against Westminster Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
