Softball Recap: Santa Ana Valley's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Santa Ana Valley can now relate to. They lost 18-1 to the Rialto Knights on Thursday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Falcons, who until this matchup were averaging four runs allowed.

Santa Ana Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Janelle Coronel, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Santa Ana Valley moved to 16-4 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak. As for Rialto, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season.

Santa Ana Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rialto, they will square off against Silverado at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
