Softball Game Preview: Danville Hawks vs. Good Hope Raiders

For the second straight game, Danville will face off against Good Hope. The Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Danville is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Danville came up short against Good Hope and fell 8-4.

For Good Hope's part, Molly Benefield spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lizzy Steed, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Good Hope hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danville struck out seven times.

Good Hope's victory bumped their record up to 18-11-1. As for Danville, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-16.
