Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Cohasset Skippers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a tough 48-28 defeat at the hands of the Redhawks on Friday. It was the first time this season that Cohasset let down their fans at home.

Michael Wildfire and Max Monahan certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Wildfire threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns, while Monahan gained 109 total yards and a touchdown.

Cohasset's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Amesbury, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Cohasset will head out on the road to face off against Hull at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Hull will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while Cohasset is ranked 97th). As for Amesbury, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Newburyport at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Newburyport and Amesbury are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
