Vernon Hills can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Maine West Warriors 3-2. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 13-3 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Jake Levitan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
