Volleyball Recap: Gunnison Valley Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Gunnison Valley had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Parowan Rams by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2022.

While Gunnison Valley ultimately came up short, they really made Parowan work, particularly in the fourth set. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-11, 20-25, 26-24, 15-10.

When it comes to explaining why Gunnison Valley lost, don't look at Shae King. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and two aces. King has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

The win got Parowan back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Gunnison Valley will head out to challenge Manti at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parowan, they will be playing at home against Wayne at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
