Baseball Recap: Douglas Drops Season-High Score on Damonte Ranch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Douglas). They put the hurt on the Damonte Ranch Mustangs with a sharp 15-6 win on Thursday. The Tigers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th.

Grayson Kamper made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Kamper was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Titus Gocke looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed over his last four matchups.

Back at the plate, Douglas got a big performance out of Jake Hoover, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Hoover a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luke Main, who scored three runs while going 1-for-4.

Douglas lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Damonte Ranch didn't launched any home runs.

The victory got Douglas back to even at 6-6. As for Damonte Ranch, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Douglas Tigers take on North Valleys Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. North Valleys will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Douglas surely won't give up without a fight. As for Damonte Ranch, they will take on Galena at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
