Sumner and Emerald Ridge are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sumner is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Sumner didn't have quite enough to beat South Kitsap and fell 9-7.

Natalie Korschinowski made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Valenta, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Emerald Ridge's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Rogers by a score of 8-7.

Abygale Redwine and Ava Puttler did some serious damage despite the final result: Redwine went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Puttler went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Payton Robillard, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs.

Sumner's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Emerald Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
