Basketball Game Preview: Portage Mustangs vs. Penns Manor Comets + How To Watch

The Portage Mustangs will take on the Penns Manor Comets at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Portage not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since December 3, 2024 (when they won 70-27). They put the hurt on Purchase Line with a sharp 55-30 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Red Dragons: they've now won six in a row.

Portage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyson Burkett, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 10 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylin Walker, who went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Portage was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Penns Manor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-59 heartbreaker at the hands of Harmony Area.

Penns Manor's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Portage, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Portage strolled past Penns Manor in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 72-55. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
