After a string of six wins, Oswego East's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against the Plainfield Central Wildcats, falling 7-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 11-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Oswego East got a good showing from Caden Bregar, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave Bregar a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Oswego East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wilson Terrutty, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Oswego East's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Plainfield Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Oswego East will challenge rival Joliet West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Plainfield Central is set to take on their familiar foe Plainfield North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.7, the Tigers 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
