Softball Recap: Skyline Beats Lake Washington for Their Fourth Straight Win

Skyline came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Lake Washington Kangaroos with a sharp 14-3 victory. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Addison McGillis looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Nazli Chavez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Shea Staley, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one double.

Skyline hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Washington struck out 11 times.

Skyline pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Lake Washington, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline will challenge Eastlake at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Washington, they will take on Issaquah at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
