Softball Recap: Gonzales Takes a Loss

Gonzales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 11-8 to the North Monterey County Condors. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly three runs.

Gonzales' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for North Monterey County, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11.

Looking ahead, Gonzales will face off against Pajaro Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for North Monterey County, they will square off against Stevenson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.83 runs per game on average), something the Condors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
