Recap: Warsaw Tigers vs. Ben Davis Giants

The Warsaw Tigers entered their tilt with the Ben Davis Giants with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Warsaw walked away with a 52-41 win over Ben Davis on Friday. Given Warsaw's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Ben Davis is ranked 182nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Brooke Winchester, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The match was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joslyn Bricker, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.

When it comes to explaining why Ben Davis lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zoe Wheeler. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds. Wheeler scored a full 31.7% of Ben Davis' points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Aleia Sultzer was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 7 rebounds.

Warsaw's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Ben Davis, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-7.

Warsaw won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Westfield at 7:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Westfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Tuesday. As for Ben Davis, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Roncalli at 6:30 p.m.
