Volleyball Recap: Sierra Canyon's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Sierra Canyon waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Santa Margarita Eagles 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Trailblazers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Sierra Canyon won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-14.

Kendall Omoruyi paced Sierra Canyon's offense, picking up 12 kills. Omoruyi got some help from Lucky Fasavalu and her 23 assists.

Sierra Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Santa Margarita, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

After both having extra time off, Sierra Canyon and Notre Dame Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup will give the Trailblazers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Santa Margarita, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on San Juan Hills at 6:00 p.m. on September 9.
