When it comes to explaining why Spring Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alijah Adem. Despite the final result, he scored 31 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was CJ Joshua, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Sierra Vista's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Spring Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Sierra Vista will head out on the road to face off against Somerset Sky Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Somerset Sky Pointe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Sierra Vista is ranked 17th). As for Spring Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Coronado at 6:30 p.m. Coronado knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 18 matchups -- so hopefully Spring Valley likes a good challenge.
