Volleyball Preview: Cocoa Tigers vs. Space Coast Vipers
Cocoa has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Space Coast Vipers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Space Coast took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cocoa, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Cocoa finally turned things around against Florida Prep on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons , sneaking past 3-2.
Cocoa took Florida Prep into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 20-25, 21-25, 25-15, 15-10.
Meanwhile, Space Coast lost 3-0 to Rockledge on Wednesday. The Vipers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Space Coast was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 28-26, 25-12.
Space Coast might have lost, but man, Siena Allotta was a machine: she had 31 digs and two aces.
Cocoa's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10. As for Space Coast, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
