Flag Football Game Preview: Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack vs. Monterey Trail Mustangs

The Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack will head out to square off against the Monterey Trail Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cosumnes Oaks' offense hasn't had much luck over their past five games, but Thursday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cosumnes Oaks is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Pleasant Grove on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wolfpack came up short against the Eagles, falling 33-7. The Wolfpack were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.

Despite the defeat, Cosumnes Oaks got top-tier performance from Avery Nogosek, who threw for 173 yards and five TDs. 80 of those passing yards were hauled in by Abby Greene.

Cosumnes Oaks didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Bailey Rademaker.

Meanwhile, Monterey Trail came up short against Sheldon on Tuesday and fell 23-15.

Even if they lost, Monterey Trail's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ezira Hawkins.

Monterey Trail's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Cosumnes Oaks, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Things could have been worse for Cosumnes Oaks, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 26-12 loss to Monterey Trail in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Wolfpack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
