Basketball Game Preview: Brevard Christian War Eagles vs. Melbourne Bulldogs

The Brevard Christian War Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Melbourne Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brevard Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Brevard Christian beat Space Coast 41-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the War Eagles.

Brevard Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Samuel Mitchell, who posted 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Mitchell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Mitchell, who put up eight points and 17 boards.

Brevard Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Melbourne suffered their closest loss since January 12, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of The First Academy by a score of 59-56.

Melbourne's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7. As for Brevard Christian, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
