Baseball Game Preview: South Vermillion Wildcats vs. Seeger Patriots

The South Vermillion Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Seeger Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Vermillion has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for South Vermillion after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 18-6 to Westville. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Parker Weir was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seeger, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against Riverton Parke by a score of 7-3 on Monday.

The victory got Seeger back to even at 6-6. As for South Vermillion, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

South Vermillion suffered a grim 17-5 defeat to Seeger when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
