Basketball Recap: Flatirons Academy Piles Up the Points Against Gilpin County

Flatirons Academy won the last time they faced Gilpin County and things went their way on Friday too. The Flatirons Academy Bison breezed by the Gilpin County Eagles to the tune of 90-25. The match marked the Bison's most dominant victory of the season so far.

Jackson Schulz had a dynamite game for Flatirons Academy, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Caleb Doughty was another key player, going 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points and three steals.

Flatirons Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Flatirons Academy and bumps their season record up to 9-4. As for Gilpin County, they are on a 34-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Dayspring Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Flatirons Academy will host Dayspring Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Gilpin County will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th.
