Hoggard and Topsail are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Vikings will host the Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Hoggard has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Topsail will arrive with three straight wins.

Ashley hit Hoggard with a seven-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings lost 13-1 to the Screaming Eagle.

Hoggard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Bush, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double.

Topsail not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 11-1). They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over North Davidson.

Hoggard's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Topsail, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.
