Softball Game Preview: Crescent Valley Raiders vs. Central Panthers

Crescent Valley is 0-10 against Central since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Crescent Valley has given up an average of 12.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Crescent Valley is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Wednesday. They took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lebanon.

Ashley Howitt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Central had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

Central pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Crescent Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
