Northridge is 8-2 against Mountain View since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Northridge Grizzlies will look to defend their home court against the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 5:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Northridge's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Mountain View has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Last Tuesday, Northridge came up short against Greeley Central and fell 45-36. The Grizzlies were down 39-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite their defeat, Northridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sophia Carbajal, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Carbajal is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey McGeen, who posted 14 points.
Even though they lost, Northridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Mountain View didn't have too much trouble with Thornton on Thursday as they won 46-30. The contest marked the Mountain Lions' most dominant win of the season so far.
Northridge better keep an eye on Marlene Carrillo. She was instrumental in Mountain View's win, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Teagan Bauer was another key player, putting up three points along with seven boards and five steals.
Northridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Northridge has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 36.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Mountain View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Northridge was able to grind out a solid win over Mountain View in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 56-48. Will Northridge repeat their success, or does Mountain View have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
