Basketball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

After flying high against Chapel Hill last Saturday, Wheeler came back down to earth. The Wheeler Wildcats fell 66-54 to the Cherokee Warriors on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Warriors are ranked eighth).

Wheeler now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Cherokee, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Wheeler will face off against North Paulding at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cherokee, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Cobb at 5:00 p.m. Cherokee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 matchups -- so hopefully North Cobb likes a good challenge.
