Baseball Game Preview: Hobbs Eagles vs. Piedra Vista Panthers

The Hobbs Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Piedra Vista Panthers at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Hobbs is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cleveland. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly four runs.

Hobbs saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Kesner, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Piedra Vista faced off against Clovis on Friday. Piedra Vista fell just short of Clovis by a score of 2-1.

Piedra Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Hobbs, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Hobbs might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from Piedra Vista in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Hobbs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
