Concordia put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Santa Fe Chiefs with a sharp 17-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Fighting Orioles in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won eight in a row.

Olivia Hemme made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Wilkens, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abigail Jones, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Concordia's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.9 runs. As for Santa Fe, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Coming up, Concordia will face off against Crest Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Fighting Orioles 1.9, the Cougars 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Santa Fe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
