After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pineville, Winnfield was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Grant Cougars by a score of 4-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Karley Caskey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addison Pharr was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Winnfield's win bumped their record up to 11-13-1. As for Grant, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Coming up, Winnfield will venture away from home to square off against Caldwell Parish at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grant, they will square off against Jena at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
