Basketball Recap: Central Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Central Christian Academy lost against Veritas Christian Academy back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Central Christian Academy Eagles fell 48-38 to Veritas Christian Academy. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 49th in Connecticut, while Veritas Christian Academy are ranked 183rd in New Jersey).

Leading Veritas Christian Academy to victory were Madelyn Seifert and Amya Cuddon. Seifert dropped a double-double with 21 points and 16 rebounds, while Cuddon posted 25 points and three steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Seifert has scored at least a third of Veritas Christian Academy's points.

This is the second loss in a row for Central Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Veritas Christian Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-7.

Central Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against New Life Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
