Basketball Recap: Morgan Park Victorious

Morgan Park had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They slipped by the Rockford East E-Rabs 52-51 on Monday. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 59-48 loss the last time these two teams met.

Several E-Rabs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marquis Goldsmith, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Goldsmith is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Tarion McFadden-Leach, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 15 points.

Morgan Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-35 win against Hansberry on the 25th. As for Rockford East, they have also already played their next contest, a 68-39 defeat against Whitney Young on the 26th.
