Basketball Game Preview: Paint Valley Bearcats vs. Southeastern Panthers

Paint Valley and Southeastern are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Paint Valley Bearcats duke it out with the Southeastern Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Paint Valley has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Southeastern will arrive with four straight victories.

Paint Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 74-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Western on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 634th, while the Indians are ranked 315th).

Meanwhile, Southeastern didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Huntington on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 47-43 win.

Southeastern pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Paint Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Paint Valley came up short against Southeastern in their previous meeting back in January, falling 56-50. Can Paint Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
