Volleyball Recap: Liberty Falls to St. Teresa's Academy in First Game of Season

Liberty had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the St. Teresa's Academy Stars, falling 3-0. The Blue Jays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Liberty had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-20.

Gillian McClintock paced Liberty's offense, picking up nine kills. McClintock got some help from Brooke Roseberry and her 18 assists. Elsie Combs controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

St. Teresa's Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Liberty has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Blue Springs on the 3rd. St. Teresa's Academy has also already played their next matchup (against Saint Thomas Aquinas), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
