Baseball Recap: Zeigler-Royalton Takes a Loss

Zeigler-Royalton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 3-0 to the Mt. Vernon Rams.

Zeigler-Royalton got a good showing from Eli Garver, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave Garver a new career-low.

Zeigler-Royalton's loss dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Mt. Vernon, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zeigler-Royalton will venture away from home to face off against Hardin County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will face off against Teutopolis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
