Softball Game Preview: Moorpark Musketeers vs. Hart Hawks

The Moorpark Musketeers will head out to face off against the Hart Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Moorpark has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Camarillo hit Moorpark with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Musketeers fell just short of the Scorpions by a score of 7-6.

Sydney Burckhard was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Nathalie Hernandez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Hart came up short against Saugus on Thursday, falling 20-1. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Centurions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Hart's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Moorpark, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-5.

Everything went Moorpark's way against Hart in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Moorpark made off with a 12-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Musketeers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
