Basketball Game Preview: Everglades City Gators vs. The Village School of Naples Knights

The Everglades City Gators will face off against The Village School of Naples Knights on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Everglades City had to suffer through a 78-39 loss at the hands of Barron Collier. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Cougars are ranked 141st).

Meanwhile, The Village School of Naples lost to Donahue Catholic on the road by a 63-49 margin on Thursday. The Knights have struggled against the Shamrocks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The Village School of Naples' defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Everglades City, they dropped their record down to 10-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Everglades City was able to grind out a solid win over The Village School of Naples when the teams last played back in January, winning 72-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for Everglades City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
