Softball Recap: Orange Finds Home Field Redemption Against Person

There's no place like home for Orange, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in March. They came out on top against the Person Rockets by a score of 13-8 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 back in March.

Katie Carden was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Hayleigh Hammond was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Orange kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Orange's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Person, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Orange wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-1 defeat against Wakefield on the 16th. As for Person, they have also already played their next game, a 7-6 loss against Southern Alamance on the 17th.
