Softball Recap: Eisenhower Comes Up Short

Eisenhower had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 11-9 to make it four. They lost 15-0 to the Carter Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 9-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Eisenhower saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paige Hamner, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

As for Carter, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.

On Carter's side, Jaelyn Vargas was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those three hits gave Vargas a new career-high. TJ Okundaye was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Eisenhower didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-7 defeat against San Gorgonio on the 28th. As for Carter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Colton on the 30th.
