Recap: Victoria West Warriors vs. Miller Buccaneers
If The Victoria West Warriors were riding high off their 42-7 takedown of the Carroll Tigers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Victoria West fell 52-45 to Miller on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (42), Victoria West still had to take the loss.
Kamauri Montgomery and Camden Repper certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Montgomery rushed for 223 yards while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, while Repper threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. Montgomery hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games.
It was another big night for Broderick Taylor, who rushed for 294 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Taylor hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Long, who threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns.
Victoria West now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Miller, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Victoria West will head out on the road to face off against Victoria East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Victoria East will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Miller, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carroll will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 781st, while Miller is ranked 137th).
