Softball Recap: South Range Takes a Loss

South Range dropped their record down to 8-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Independence Blue Devils by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Independence, they moved to 10-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 12th.

For Independence's part, Lila Manfredonia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. Manfredonia has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Paige Priebe was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Looking ahead, South Range will welcome Poland Seminary at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Independence, they will take on New London at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
