Baseball Recap: Oxford Comes Up Short

Oxford was the 9-2 winner over Collierville when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Oxford came up short against Collierville on Saturday, falling 11-1. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oxford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Blackwood, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Oxford's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Collierville, their win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0.

Looking ahead, Oxford will face off against Lewisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewisburg's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Oxford's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Collierville, they will square off against Grant Community at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
