Basketball Recap: Martin's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Martin came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 53-40 victory over the Haltom Buffalos. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Buffalos are ranked 746th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Martin is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record this season. As for Haltom, they dropped their record down to 6-17 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Martin will square off against South Grand Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Grand Prairie knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Martin likes a good challenge. As for Haltom, they will challenge Bowie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
