Baseball Game Preview: Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors vs. Wallkill Panthers

The Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Wallkill Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Our Lady of Lourdes is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Our Lady of Lourdes came up short against Saugerties and fell 5-1.

Meanwhile, Wallkill might've scored the first runs on Saturday, but it was Columbia who claimed the real prize. The Panthers fell 6-2 to the Blue Devils. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Wallkill got a good showing from Conner Griffin, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits Griffin has allowed since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Wallkill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mike Daley, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Our Lady of Lourdes' defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Wallkill, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Our Lady of Lourdes took their victory against Wallkill in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 10-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
