Basketball Game Preview: Kindred Vikings vs. Rugby Panthers

The Kindred Vikings will head out to square off against the Rugby Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kindred has seven straight victories, Rugby has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Kindred against Lisbon as the squad secured a 68-27 win. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Broncos are ranked 39th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 59 points the game before, Rugby was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They had to suffer through a 86-29 loss at the hands of Devils Lake. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kindred pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Rugby, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
