Football Recap: Willits Wolverines vs. Weed Cougars
Willits gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Weed Cougars with a sharp 39-13 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Willits to victory, but perhaps none more so than Porter Garman, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Rockey, who threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willits will challenge St. Bernard's at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran up and down the field in their prior games. As for Weed, they will take on Maxwell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
